Reliable Tube Labeling – One Tube at a Time
Give each laboratory tube a identity.
Automated Labeling of Laboratory Tubes
In modern laboratory workflows, reliable traceability and clear identification of laboratory tubes are essential. Automated tube labeling supports both individual tube identification and batch-based labeling, depending on the application and workflow requirements.
Each tube can be labeled with a unique identifier, or multiple tubes can be consistently labeled with the same information, for example during kit preparation or batch processing. By standardizing the labeling process, manual handling is reduced and the risk of mix-ups is minimized, even when processing large numbers of tubes.
How Automated Labeling Works
Tube Positioning, Label Generation and Application
LABOTIQ LAB-BOT systems use a multifunctional labeling unit with an integrated thermal transfer printing module supplied by CAB. The module holds a roll of blank labels and a matching ribbon, enabling on-demand label printing and immediate application.
Label content is printed using thermal transfer technology, where the ribbon ink is permanently transferred onto the label surface. A high-resolution print head with up to 600 dpi ensures sharp text, pictograms, logos as well as barcodes and 2D codes. The optimized combination of label material and ribbon provides excellent chemical resistance for laboratory environments.
For labeling, the Lab-Bot transports a tube or vial to the multifunctional unit, where it is precisely positioned and fixed between three rotating rollers. Label printing and application are performed in a single, continuous step. The freshly printed label is guided between one roller and the tube and firmly applied by controlled rotation, ensuring consistent placement and adhesion. Once labeling is complete, the tube or vial is released and transferred to the next process step.
Comprehensive labeling options
With the LAB-BOT, you can label your laboratory tubes with a variety of information to increase traceability and efficiency:
Barcode and 2D codes
Automate the capture and management of samples by scanning the sample information. This increases accuracy and speed and reduces errors.
Pictograms and logos
Use visual symbols to quickly identify sample types, hazard warnings or manufacturer information.
Text information
Add important text details such as weights, filling time stamps and unique sample numbers to the labels.
Label design and content
With the LAB-BOT, you can not only ensure that each sample carries exactly the information it needs. You can also design the label yourself.
You can work with the design software of your choice (e.g. NiceLabel, CABlabel S3) or rely on our integrated solution and optimally combine label design and content.
Regardless of whether you only need to label a few tubes or many, the LAB-BOT-ONE is the perfect choice for any modern laboratory thanks to its flexibility, simple setup and the resulting increase in efficiency.
In addition to a large selection of immediately available label formats, we also offer customer-specific sizes as well as labels with pre-printed text, such as colored logos.
